About Me

Hey — I’m Jason. I’m a self-taught developer with a strong focus on web development and DevOps. I’ve been building my own full-stack workflows from the ground up, combining lightweight static sites, Linux servers, automation scripts, and modern deployment practices.

Most of what you’ll see on this site was built from scratch — not because I had to, but because I wanted to understand how it all works. That curiosity is what drives me. I believe in learning by doing, and I treat every project as a chance to improve my skills and refine my stack.

I’m currently focused on:

  • Building and deploying fast, secure static websites using tools like Hugo, HTML/CSS, and vanilla JavaScript
  • Managing and automating Linux servers for hosting, backups, and monitoring
  • Documenting my workflow so others can follow along, learn, and build their own systems

You can find my writing at packetsandcode.com, where I share real-world projects, lessons learned, and tips for devs who are learning by doing — just like I am.

Whether I’m setting up a VPS, styling a blog, or writing a custom deploy script with rsync, I care about doing things the right way:
minimal, secure, and reliable.

When I’m not at the terminal, I’m probably out riding my motorcycle and thinking about what I want to build next.
